Some cultural centers work in this region: the Local Cultural Centre in Żarnowo and 2 country club rooms in Netta Folwark and Bór as well as Local Public Library in Żarnowo and 5 library branches (in Białobrzegi, Janówka, Rutki, Netta Folwark, Bór). There is also the Local Information Centre. All these bodies are animators of cultural life in the region.

They are responsible for local culture spread and protection of region cultural goods. A lot of integration happenings and various forms of activities for all are organized there.
The Local Cultural Centre and country club rooms try to satisfy individual and group clients in terms of education, information and personal development. They organize:

Thanks to European Funds, the building of the Local Cultural Centre in Żarnowo was renovated and the outside area developed. Also, the standard of offered services and the standard of country people life improved and everybody is satisfied. Residents can come and make use of computers, reading-room, library or playgrounds, sports fields, arbours and summer stage outside. Moreover, a lot of concerts, outdoor parties, sports competitions, and others are organized. The building is adjusted to disabled people.

Zespół Staroobrzędowców - „Riabina”

The artists of music bands and well-known, national minority group ‘Riabina’ assemble at the Local Cultural Centre. ‘Riabina’ presents folk culture, tradition, customs and old-ritualistic rites and it promotes the region in the country of Poland and abroad. The ladies wear original costumes, they dance and sing old songs with no accompaniment in a Russian dialect.

The folk artists who cultivate Polish traditions handed down from generation to generation assemble at the Local Cultural Centre too. We can meet among them: Helena Kalisz, Bożena Michniewicz and Wanda Dobkowska – painted Easter eggs, interior decorations, palms, Christmas decorations, crochet works, artificial flowers; Jadwiga Zawadzka and Jadwiga Wysocka – traditional cakes: log cake, baumkuchen, ritual bread baking.

A female congregation ‘Active Woman’ was created in the Local Cultural Centre. The participants promote their region by craft works, ceremonial and traditional cuisine.
Public Libraries of the Augustów Municipality are available for everybody. They are animators of cultural life in the region by organizing author meetings, reading competitions or library lessons. They cooperate with the Local Cultural Centre, Primary Schools and Junior Schools of the Augustów Municipality.
Public Libraries give access to:
- book collections,
- multimedia,
- magazines.
Public Libraries offer:
- free access to the Internet for everybody,
- ability to use multimedial equipment,
- ability to watch films.
Library service and book collections are constantly improving thanks to European Funds, National Library, Bank Foundation and Orange Foundation.
